I met Caitlin at my Sister’s wedding while she was second shooting with Stephanie Veldman. The moment I got engaged I did not even look for anyone else to photograph my special day. I just knew she was the one ! We went for a mini-shoot before our wedding in Cape Town with Caitlin and her Husband, Simon. It was as if we’d known each other for years. They made us feel so comfortable and at ease. We even went for a drink afterwards. I knew that we made the best decision when we received our photos. I can recommend Caitlin 100%. I hope to have the privilege to have her take our photos again one day.

Caitlin really has a gift in capturing beauty in the ordinary, messy, seemingly ‘mundane’ moments. As a photographer her framing and composition is truly unique. She includes small details, that others would overlook, and these details end up adding so much depth to her images. These details as well as the way she frames her images also make her photographs of you and your family feel so uniquely yours, full of your life’s details. She is calm, warm and gentle. She directs you during the shoot, to ensure she maximises on time, but does so in the most subtle way- never forcing anything or missing a golden natural moment. If you do feel nervous or unsure her presence and gentle guidance will certainly calm you right down, help you to be present, to laugh and to enjoy the time. In terms of the images we received, from what felt like a short shoot ( we chatted so much ) I was blown away at the quality and diversity we received. We received more special moments captured than we could have hoped for. I'd been following Caitlin from over in America for nearly a decade. Something about her style and mood resonated with me from across the Atlantic through her photos. They were thoughtful, joyful, full of life. But it wasn't just her images it was her entire persona. You know when you've never met someone, but you could swear you have ? That's Caitlin. I wanted to meet her just as much as I wanted her the be the one to photograph my wedding day. Caitlin and her husband Simon, hopped on a plane and flew all the way to the Scottish Highlands (while she was pregnant!) and spent the weekend documenting my soon-to-be husband and I, amongst 26 of our closest family and friends. The two of them fit so snug into our intimate group. It was such a treat to meet her, and to have her with me. On the day of, I was so comfortable sharing my emotional space with her. I hoped that I too, provided a creative space for her art, as I trusted her every move. We had some adventurous plans through out the day, and we left our photo schedule very fluid. Within that fluidity, her ability to document truthfully and organically was spot on. Our images were absolutely stunning. Perfectly honest to the place and time, just as I had been originally drawn to. Thoughtful. Joyful. Full of life. HIGHLY recommending Caitlin to be with you on your wedding day. She will allow you to remember all of the things you missed, in the most beautiful way.

Our morning with Caitlin was just wonderful. We walked in the garden, fed the kids, picked flowers and played so comfortably in her presence. It was more of an experience than an hour standing awkwardly in front of a camera. The photos are beautiful and I feel like we’ll be able to look back at them for decades to come and feel all the incredible feelings we felt on that day with our brand new baby.
