Family is the first place we learn about community. It is the first place we learn what laughter sounds like, what encouragement feels like, what being an individual looks like. It’s wild, messy and full of love. I’ve always gravitated toward photographing family in an unconventional way. My approach is a good mix of documentary and directed. I love documenting families together because it’s always a unique experience, but forever inspiring to see how people live and share community together.
